Good for you.

I love a film that reflects time and place. To Live snd Die in LA n is classic 80s but does have a nice edge.

I picked the DVD up in Fopp in the West End a few years back as it was recommended by a member of staff. Their recommendations are generally excellent.

I watched To Live And Die In L.A after reading this thread, it's dated now, but it takes you back and is a classic type of 80's film with great backdrops of LA, plus the soundtrack.

Agree re French Connection
Brilliant film , do like to see a bit of scuzzy 1970's NY on film.

I don't think the French Connection films get enough credit. I think they are classics up there with the best.

Jade was great as well.

Another one of those mid 1990s Basic Instinct style cop / erotic thrillers but has an amazing car chase scene in it.

Bought Sorcerer on blu-Ray a few years back as had heard good things about it and wasnt disappointed.

Great director.

To live and die in LA is worth a watch if you like 80s crime drama.

His response to Nicolas Winding Refn calling his own film a masterpiece was on point .

The remake of 12 Angry Men and The Hunted I would add to the list of good films he did, in addition to the amazing ones.
